Special Initiative Project Coordinator
Hiring Status: Temporary/Part-time
Direct Report: Executive Director
Position Summary:
The Special Initiative Project Coordinator will function as part of a team, working multiple areas of the organization. Primary responsibilities consist of management of the Annie E. Casey Community Investment Fund initiative, Southern Black Girls and Women’s (SBGW) grant initiative supported by the Tides Foundation. This position will work in partnership with other SBGW Team at Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF), Fund for Southern Communities (FSC) and Truthspeaks Innovation Fund (TIF). Additional responsibilities include implementation of grant-making, development and other program and member-service related activities. Will handle some administrative duties related to the day-to-day office operation for the project.
Job Requirements:
- Progressive social change orientation necessary
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- College degree preferred, Master’s Degree a plus
- Thorough knowledge of the non-profit sector and philanthropic community
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software
- Ability to work within seasonal deadlines
- Must be self-disciplined & self-starter
- Ability to coordinate meetings and special events
- Ability to handle multiple assignments/tasks
- Results oriented
- Professional appearance as required
- Good motivational and organization skills
- Substantial commitment of time, some night meetings, and travel (including weekends)
- Demonstrated ability to work with different types of people and organizations in the South.

Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to:
Programs
- Manage Community Investment Fund Initiative
- Coordinating SBGW grant activities, in collaboration with other cohorts
- Coordinate technical assistance workshops and offerings for grantees & potential grantees
- Manage the Grantee Partners Database Program
- Manage Donor Database
Public Relations
- Manage development of content for Annual Report, e-newsletters, brochures and other needed materials.
- Development of PR materials
- Increase general public awareness through appropriate activities
- Ability to update the website content in concert with web-master
Work in cooperation with the Executive Director and Anchor Organizations to:
- Provide leadership towards implementing the mission and goals of the
- Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium and Casey Foundation Grant
- Represent FSC personal contacts, networking opportunities, media, etc.
- Be an advocate for FSC’s mission and philosophy with donors, grantees and the public
- Represent FSC in philanthropic networks regionally and nationally, and promote the concept of community based philanthropy

Job Summary: The Office Assistant will function as part of a team, working with the staff of the organization. Responsibilities involve program, development, finance and administrative duties.

Financial
- Facilitate deposits into FSC accounts
- Assists with preparation of acknowledgment and tax letters
- Manage Donor Data Base
Development
- Manage monthly pledge program
- Assist with donor events and special events
- Manage donor records and generate reports
- Coordinate office mailings
Organizational Relationship
Work well with all staff
